irritation

This is not a summary. Thing is, I started this lil rant, and about halfway through I clicked the editor button (first time user and all) and the page refreshed, and everything I had written gone, but the editor was now activated. Sucked big time. The problem is, as most writers that have by some misfortune lost an original, the second time around seems to be lacking because you can never remember exactly what you said, how you said it. So this is my apology if it seems to be, well, lacking. Here goes.

Hello to you depraved individuals that will waste your time and energy to decipher the inner ramblings of my mind.  You need to find something better to do with your time.  Now after such a warm greeting I would like to thank those that use this site, both for entertainment and for posting works, well, and also just because they like the place.  It has been a long time since I lasted visited AD and longer still since visiting my site.  So like any normal person I went back through my past reviews from everyone, going back to look at the author’s spots on the web that had left reviews and such.  I would like to thank you all for the reviews - they let me know that (1) people do really read this crap I put out  (2) how people feel about said crap, but most of all (3) that we still have idiots out in the world.  Now before you think I am insulting you, no, it is a more directed statement.  Case in point, and the only point I am making by stating what I did cletis and jeff.  (they did not think enough of themselves, for good reason, to capitalize their names, neither will I)  He posted and presumed something on a subject he knows nothing about, namely me.  And the he is not a typo, for I have come to discover that the two are really one, a horrible beast known as cletiff . . . be very wary of this creature my friends.  Not only did this moron leave two reviews on my poetry section, but had the audacity to email me via AD to tell me some interesting things, one of which being my reputation as a writer.  (the author considered posting the email along with the reply but decided that it would serve no purpose)  Friends ask why I leave his reviews up, I ask myself that sometimes . . . but he took the time to post them, and regardless the situation, they are his reviews – so be it. Then again, I think any person worth their weight in salt can tell how idiotic he is just by the review he left under the poem Ivory Tower.  I am not going to go into what the poem is about, read it, you will know and you will see how “well” his review gels with the poem.

My lord I rant like a moron.

The point is, I came back, I reread these things, and now I am irritated at people (him).  Why is it people presume so often to know what a person means, as if they are the ones who wrote it.  That used to irritate me in college, a professor telling us what the author meant by a poem, when I wanted to scream at her “that is your opinion!” but instead sat meekly listening to her while forming my own thoughts.  Poetry makes you think and feel, or it should make you feel something if it is any good.

I bumped into cletiff not long ago, and decided to confront him about his postings.  He claimed ignorance to the subject.  Unfortunately for him, his full, real name is his email addy.  He never admitted to it, saying that it had to be someone else with the same name while spending a good deal of time looking at the floor.  I guess I cannot blame him - on second thought, yeah, I can.  Which brings me to another point, and also a reaffirmation as to why his reviews are still on my poems.  If you are going to say something, if you are going to write something, if you dare to share your views and opinions, stand up for them damnit.  Not just for the people that review, but also for fellow writers and would be authors out there.  Someone, somewhere is not going to like what you write, for whatever reason.  It is inevitable.  Perhaps they will not leave a review.  Perhaps they will.  And hopefully for your sake it will not be some moron like cletiff. (grow the f-ck up son and stand up for your own misguided thoughts – in case he reads this)

You know, I have way much more I can say on this subject, but I won’t.  I will probably regret posting this, but, who cares.  Till next time.
