I keep staring at my damaged left hand, wondering if I do that long enough, will I be able to shame it into healing. Rest, ice, warm soaks and bitching hasn't borne any fruit, and the damn thing really isn't keeping up with the program here. I’m traveling to Massachusetts on Sunday for a reading/signing at a dojo up there—after which I’ll participate in a karate workout—and then, on Tuesday, January 8th, I’ve got a reading/signing/breaking at the Barnes & Noble in Greenwich Village, New York City. The breaking involves me breaking boards as part of a karate demonstration, which will have to be done with kicks, unless the staredown with my hand works. Come on down if you like.
