It's still kind of hard for me to believe that my "Dancing on Broken Glass" final manuscript ever wound up getting finished at all PERIOD, considering that along the way to it's present day life form, I actually lost it to a crashed computer twice. Yep...I had to learn the hard way... to finally use backup discs, lol. After a 25 year addiction to both drugs and booze, it just wasn't the easist thing for me to actually plan on "just in case" future stuff back then...like a computer crashing, so I eventually wound up having to rewrite the darn manuscript over several times. Having been allowed a clean and sober lifestyle by my higher power for the past 21 years, I have been able to enjoy some of the hard won fruits of my life in recovery...like seeing my rock dreams take shape with the Bodega Dragons band, and of seeing (10) of my very own songs recorded in our only band CD "Unfinished Business." We never became a "household name," but I enjoyed performing live with them for seven years...and today I'm still proud of the body of work laid down in our CD. I didn't really expect to ever become an author either...it just sort of happened for me, after I began writing about my life as a means of putting some closure on my past. It just goes to show me what I already had leaned in 12 step meetings and in therapy...that there are NO COINCIDENCES in one's life! Every thing that happens, or anyone that I meet...was supposed to become a part of my life. The latest recent proof of that statement to me, was in my meeting my thoughtful, caring Publisher Miriam (Mimi) Jacobs...right in my own group of myspace friends online. I expect to see "Dancing on Broken Glass" officially released by early June...thanks to her never ending, untiring professionalism...Peace2u Mimi...:)
