PLEASE, JUST DO YOUR JOB
"Please, just do your job"
It gets downright silly at times, mind blowing to me; simply mind blowing. Our economy is dwindling by the day right before our eyes and yes, the vast majority of the blame goes to our growingly ridiculous government; "but what about us?" They might NEVER do anything. I'm serious, so what are we going to do; nothing? Let the economy totally collapse and go completely broke? It's time that we do our own and look at ourselves in the mirror. What services do we provide for commerce? How good is our product? How can we get that product out there? Finally, at least look at what type of customer service are we providing?
The first two are definitely questionable, but the last is damn near a joke; a joke man. It's a joke that I don't like to laugh at, but sometimes in hindsight, I do.
It's too ridiculous. Two to three times a week, I have to go thru hours upon hours of senseless babble with these morons when I need customer service. They don't even know what their job is. Case in point; lunch break, 7/10/08. I had a Big Mac attack dude, a week and a half ago so I had to get some Micky Ds. My mouth was watering for it to the point where I looked like those old McDonald commercials for real. I almost was chanting, "big mac, big mac, big mac." Once I reached McDonalds, it was already a long line, so I knew that I had to be patient as possible because there would be no way around it if I was going to purchase my magical burger. What I saw though, made me sigh because I knew that it wasn't going to be a smooth transaction. One of the workers, the one who "passes out" the food once they take your order and it's your time to get your ticket, was in rare form. SHE had an attitude. It was strange. It wasn't an attitude like she didn't want to be at work, it was I don't know how to describe it, a stranger one than that. It was an attitude of she was the jam? Yeah, she was the chick who ONLY passes out the burgers, not take the order, not cook the food, but just passes it out like a relay.
She though that she ran the whole joint. I'm laughing now thinking about it, but it's the truth. She was the one at McDonalds in her mind because she thought that she was the grand overseer of all hamburgers? I said to myself, that I was going to be as cool as possible because I know that this dooshbag was going to say something out of the way, but I'm going to get my food and get out of here as quickly and as peacefully as possible. Client by client she treated them like she was the teacher and they were her third grade students coming from a program. Nobody said anything. "Let's go! Number 59, number 59! They better hurry up." By the 5th customer that went by and she was kicking it like that, I knew that it was most likely going to be some type of confrontation because I was in no mood to be chumped off. Finally, my order came up. She was quick with it and left and…. Noooooo!!!! I didn't have the condiments that I ordered. I knew that it was on…..
I don't want any problems and for a NORMAL minded person it would never have been a problem, but with this nimkumpoop, I predicted that it would. Forget that, I HAD to have my special sauces or the food ain't even worth eating. So I asked and even put a mam on it for good measure. "Can I please have some honey mustard sauce mam?" She gave me ketchup, but no special sauce. I asked again and she ignored me, asked again and she ignored me again. I stood and waited another minute to for her to finish whatever it was that she was doing, I don't know, arranging the burgers in numerical order or something and asked again. She still says nothing so I throw my hands up like forget it, I'll go reach over myself and get the stiff, I got to go, but I didn't reach. She says, "you better not reach over MY counter?" Your counter, I didn't see where the counter had a label on it that said chick with the bad hairdo and old mustard on her shirt owns me." So I assumed that maybe, it wasn't really HER counter. I didn't reach over it anyway. So I said, "I asked you like 6 times, you acted like you didn't hear me. Can't you see, I didn't reach across the counter, do you not see that? If I did I'd have special sauces in my hand." A couple of customers started laughing and I did say it as a joke, but it was the truth.
Who does she think she is anyway, she ain't no manager, she doesn't even take the orders. This messed up hair do chick doesn't even cook the food. I'm like, just do your job, whatever that is, I don't know; a hamburger passer outer! Because that's all she did. She just passes out the burgers. No orders, no cooking, no supervising. And she had an attitude about that!!! Finally after that little interaction I said, "don't do it like that today baby, let's not do that" grabbed my sauces and she didn't say anything. The point of the story is people go over board. It wasn't even worth all of that. Just image if I was in your shoes, would you want someone to for no reason talk to you that way? I don't have anything against anyone who works wherever, but you aren't going to just handle me. Don't you forget, that I'm the customer. You work for me. The customer is supposed to be accommodated I thought. I thought that we were paying them to provide us a service, but being America, she obviously didn't see it that way.
