Thank goodness there are many types
Of social contact then there ever once was.
Many people feel this new social media
Is tearing relationships apart.
But for the home & bed ridden
It is a life line and saver of many lost & broken hearts.
To imagine a time when contact was rare
Feeling all alone and isolated
Which must have felt like falling into a deep
Dark hole of despair.
To be sick and in pain
More days than naught,
To be able to reach out to friends and family
Feeling a warm flush of kindness or maybe
Even a grin.
Heals the inner spirit
Enough to have the want
To see another day.
So all this new technology
Really can boil down to
Saving a life or broken heart
So the chronically ill can soldier on knowing
That the contact no matter how small
Helped to even out the evil of pain
That could have robbed us of a brand new day.
