This is the name I have applied to all of my work, as can be seen at the top of my website, http://www.e-tabitha.com. This phrase describes some of the original works of Thomas Wolfe, whose special niche of describing modern American culture predates most of my work. I have also been influenced considerably by Kurt Vonnegut. My favorite author is Anne Rice. There are not many authors who approach their subject matter in quite the way I do. I have been an avid reader of pop culture material throughout my life as a Baby Boomer. I keep practically every book I read, too, and many get a second reading. When I compose a book, more than anything else I want the reader to get his money's worth. I want him or her to experience what I have experienced as a reader, not as a writer. I try to write in a style that would impress me as a reader. I want the phrase to strike a chord. I want the subject to instigate the reader's fantasies. Most of my work carries an underlying current of unexpected depth. It's fun to read on the surface, but there is an undertow of knowledge to be gained. When you read the titles of my books, a duality of content should be at least somewhat apparent, but the true meaning is left for the reader to discover. Shallow, one-dimensional genres of entertainment do not impress me. I appreciate and expect genuine depth in entertainment. Think Pink Floyd. Think Dark Side of the Moon.
PLASTIC OZONE DAYDREAM: The Corvette Chronicles at face value is a book of stories about Corvettes. It is also far beyond your imagination what material lies between the covers. This is the year of the 50th Anniversary of the Corvette and many books have been released celebrating the icon's history. One of the stories from Daydream is even in one of those elegant coffee table books, but the power of Daydream lies within its sheer breadth of imagination, the totality of its story. The Corvettes in Daydream take you where no car book has ever gone before.
Ker-SPLASH! Recreational Power Boaters Guide is mostly the result of a compilation of research on the history and present state of recreational powerboats and water sports in America. Ker-Splash is quite a bit less esoteric than my other works so far. My favorite sport has had very few books written about it, and the corporate changes in the industry have been massive recently. These changes, the history of the sport, and a bit of monkeybusiness for entertainment purposes have been combined into a reference book you might enjoy reading cover-to-cover.
THE LAST HORIZON: Feminine Sexuality & The Class System presents my own theory of personality. This book is a lot more fun to read than it sounds by the title! My theory is based on a group of facts that have made the Baby Boomer generation different from all those before or since. I have spent most of my life studying this subject, and not one thing I have learned has deterred me from my theories! If America had not created its own culture and our history had not developed as it has, we would be an entirely different entity. Well, duh! Is that all there is to it? I don't think so....
