State of the Writer address! 8/4/2003 6:32:54 PM
Good day or evening to you! This is my first blog. Who came up with the word "blog" anyway? Sounds kind of...weird, or something that you catch after a day with a dozen kids!
So, I've been working on my next book, which has a title, but you'll just have to wait until it's complete to know what it is! Hee hee! It's about a rock band and the psycho wife of one of the band members. I can't work much on it since the kids are out of school for the summer, but I get some work done here and there when time permits! But, even when I have time, there are days I could sit here at the keyboard all day and not write a word. That's what actually inspired one of my poems, No Words. I could be going strong one day then BAM! Brick wall. And I cannot bust through it, no matter what I do. So, on those days, my house gets clean and the laundry gets washed and folded AND put away! If the block lasts for too long, I just let it go and forget about writing for a while. I'll read or go see a movie, and all it takes is one word that I read or hear and that'll get me going again! Or watching a music video will inspire me. I've been watching a lot of Collective Soul videos, just watching how the singer moves and trying to capture that on the page. Or I'll see something in a movie that is just an ordinary thing, and it's like a lightbulb goes on in my head!
The book is about halfway finished at the moment. I know how it'll end, I just need to get there and spice it up! I hope to have it finshed by the end of 2004. Sooner would be good, though! Heh heh!
