I apologize for the most unprofessional look and feel of my coveted Authorsden.com website.  This place has very special meaning to me; when I first started out in the self-publishing industry, many years ago, a very dear friend of mine, Paul Kyriazi, (Who is still here at AD!!!) introduced me to Authors Den. Paul is not the type of man to give a glowing review and not back it up with action. He opened my first top notch premium site here at AD. I have been here, and a gold member ever since.

I have watched over the recent past as the great new hit counting feature rang up hits. This feature also allowed me to quantify what I was paying per year per page view. Ultimately it allowed me to realize that while I was paying a good penny for my gold standard rating; I was not realizing any sales directly from AuthorsDen.

Trust me when I tell you that I had every bell and whistle turned on and I kept the pages, newsletter, stories, etc. up-to-date and operative. I distain a poorly kept site; Moreover, I refuse to pay for a feature and not fully utilize it. Thus, being the humble pirate I am, I believe I had the best AD page out of the bunch. The problem came when I began to once again quantify the amount of hours spent on upkeep and maintenance, overall cost, and then the bottom line…was all of my time and effort equating to sales?

It grieves me to come to have this place defiled with Google ads. You have my sincere apologies if you see them. Long ago Paul purchased me LIFE here at AuthorsDen. I was under the impression that being a lifer-dog and investing in a fledgling writer’s community meant something. I was amazed to find that I had to pay additional for Bronze ,Silver, Gold and now Platinum.

If you have a real success story based on AD upgrades please leave a comment or better yet write a blog or story about it! I for one would very much like to read about what you did and how so as to become a better self-published author.

See, I find it hard to figure out where the heck LIFE falls into the mix! I am still confused as to when or why LIFE became just “basic” and what we get or don’t. Who can blame a scallywag for trying to extort more for less? Being of a long pirate lineage…I sure can’t

After charting the hits, feedback, and ultimately sales, I had to stop paying the additional fees associated with the non-ad pages. Therefore, I must openly apologize to you for the most unprofessional look and feel of my AuthorsDen website.
