Many people are amazed at the amount of work I turn out in a year; multiple essays, and normally, one or more novels. People are always asking me how I manage to turn out that kind of work. Here is the secret; leverage your time in a manner that is beneficial and conducive to promoting the craft of writing.
What does that mean in plain English? Make time to write. I don’t have cable television. Add the amount of time you sit in front of the tube in a month and you will cry! Further, I have opted to take the train to work and this allows me about 30 – 45 minutes of uninterrupted writing time. This past week I have been able to write ten pages. Ten times 52 weeks a year and that is 520 pages of story per year that I can write just too and from work! Now add the time I write instead of watching the boob tube and you have your answer.
Just for the heck of it I have started to write a third volume in the Birthright (vampire slayer action adventure) series. No promises but I will let you know my progress!
