Great time at convention in Maryland 3/6/2004 2:53:54 PM
THe convention was such fun. I got to meet many of the authors from PublishAmerica that I have been talking to on the board. Lynn Price, Paul Norwood, Amo, Joyce Rapier, Mary Erickson, Lynn Barry, and lots more writers. It was like meeting old friends instead of someone I had never laid eyes on before.
There were seminars to learn from and the staff of PublishAmerica to meet. Amo gave an informative talk on ways to arrange book signings and promote our books.
Linda Alexander told us that we are not just selling out books but pieces of ourselves. We must decide how we want our readers to view us.
Lynn Barry kept everyone entertained during her class, "Fun with Fiction"
There was a tour of Frederick and the Gettysburg battleground Saturday afternoon and a buffet dinner that evening.
Sunday from noon until three, 153 authors broke the 1999 record of only 66 writers at a mass booksigning. Our group gathered in the Frederick Town Mall and handed out flyers, business cards and sold books before heading out all over the country to our homes.
Marvelous time - I am already looking forward to next year. Thank you PublishAmerica.
