I am asking my Den family to read my newest poem which I dedicate to my precious friend and mentor Jeff. At the time of this entry, he is fighting for his life. It is with an incredibly heavy heart that I go public with a request of my Den family and friends.
My precious friend and mentor Jeff has become seriously ill and is fighting for his life in a hospital in North Carolina.
He has survived thus far, against all odds, but the complications are there and seem to be mounting against him.
I have posted the poem for one reason only really. I am asking that everyone who reads it to please say a prayer, hold a positive thought, or send positive energy to Jeff as he fights to live.
He was such a tremendous support to me when my favorite Aunt passed away in September. Now he needs my support and I am doing anything I can think of to help him. The medical profession is doing it's part. His family is with him - loving, caring and praying for him. As his friend, this feels like something I can do to help in some small way. I am certain that many of you can relate to the feelings of sorrow and frustration that accompany a situation where we have no control outside of our own reaction. This is just such a case.
I wish each of you could know Jeff as I do, he has come to mean so much to me and so I am taking this perhaps somewhat unorthodox step of making his journey public with the hope that there is strength and power in numbers.
I know I have not been nearly as active on the Den this year as in years past, but I beg you to give my poem a read and then ask you to consider taking a moment of your day to remember Jeff.
