A Good Writer's Work is Never Done! 11/20/2013 3:02:25 PM
Here is my latest blog from Raw, Raving Rants from a Struggling Writer ( http://phil-sanderson-writer.tumblr.com/ ). Please enjoy! I’m now done with marketing my first novel, and am now set to move forward in my writing career. First, I need to get my first novel into print (which I have already started!). And secondly, I need to work on outlining my next novel.
I’ve already sent all supporting documents to my publisher, AuthorHouse, in order to have them move forward on designing a cool cover for my book. My original cover was pretty awesome, if you don’t mind my saying so myself! But I still want to see what their graphic artists may be able to design. Maybe they will be able to come up with something even better. I owe it to myself and my readers to see if I can get an even more handsome design on my book’s cover!
I’m also waiting to hear back from about a dozen other writers / celebrities from whom I’ve requested endorsement. I sent out about a dozen and a half and have only heard back from three of them — they all declined my request due to heavy work schedules. So I am hoping that some of the other requests will bear some sort of fruit for me.
It will only take about a couple of months to get my book in print after I give AH the go-ahead. So I may be able to have my book printed in time for Christmas if I play my cards right!
As for my next novel, I keep finding myself stuck with different ideas flowing about in my mind. However, I’ve settled upon writing my very first horror novel to see how well I can do with this exciting genre. My goal is to create a creature every bit as terrifying and solidly memorable as Bram Stoker’s Dracula. When one considers that this very famous character has been around for more than 100 years, you can clearly see that I have my work cut out for me!
So far, I have pretty much thought through the main plot line. But I still have more character development and sub-plots to consider. I’ve only barely scratched the surface of the outlining project! To keep up with my progress, please bookmark my official website.
So, even though I am focused in the future, I am still not completely done with my very first novel. I’m finding out fast that a good writer’s work is never done.
