I remember when I was a child, how exciting Valentines day was in school and what it meant to me. Getting lots of cards and candy, there were often times I didn't receive anything because I just wasn't all that popular in school and that's ok.
Valentines day is a special day indeed, just as every holiday is because it holds a significant amount of meaning. It is a day to show that special someone how much they mean to you, and I have to say my hubby never passes up the opportunity regardless of which day it is and for that I am thankful!
Today and every day, is a day to show love. Most women love receiving chocolate and flowers on Valentines day, although, I'm a special case.(if I receive gifts, I'll take The Walking Dead comics over candy and roses any day!) I don't expect anything but the love that I give and is given to me every day.
Truth is, we don't need a special day to tell us we should show the person we love how much they mean to us, but it helps set the mood to make memories and it is in all of us to be hopeless romantics! There's nothing wrong with that.
