I love being their mother and I thank God every day for blessing me with such wise children!
Right now, Tabitha is bringing home flash cards with sign language on them and testing me at the end of each month to make sure that I stay on top of learning. What I love about it most is not only does it help me better communicate with her but, she’s pushing me to continue learning for myself.
Cheyenne reminds me when I’m writing that I need to make sure that all of my grammar is checked and corrects me when I misspell a word or I forget the comma or exclamation mark.
Quinton hugs me every time we pass each other in the house and tells me that he loves me and goes to the extent to make sure I know that I am the best cook in the world and I should really pass all of my recipes down to him when he grows up.
Parents sometimes become so caught up in making sure that we are disciplinarians and forget that our children are actually teaching us how to be better human beings.
We expect our children to listen to what we ask of them or tell them but, many don’t take the time to tune in to what their children are telling them and if we don’t listen to our children, how do they trust us, and why would or should we expect them to listen to us!
These are God’s beautiful creations and they offer us many teachings just as we do them!
My children will never understand how much they help me on a daily basis, to be a better mom, sister, friend etc.. but, I try my best to let them know how much I appreciate each individual part they have in my life and that nothing big or small could ever replace the love they have put into my heart!
Make sure you take the time out to hear them and what is in their heart, it completely surprises me each and every day, the amount of wisdom, love and inspiration they give…
