The Christmas Tree, remember when? 12/14/2018 4:02:30 PM
A little taste from a little story of childhood memories.
Remember when you were around ten years old, a child with bounds of energy, full of life and wonder? I recall a special day back then, and it seems as clear in my imagination as it was then. It was Christmas time, a cold blustery day with little flakes of snow drifting in the air. Me and my buddies were walking home from school when my father drove past with a big Christmas tree in the back of his truck .I ran home and found him in the driveway untying the tree. I remember feeling proud and so happy when he let me help him carry it inside the house. The wonderful smell of fresh pine filled the air as we set it down in the living room.
I was so excited I could hardly eat dinner. Later that night, after the lights and decorations were up, Mom asked me to water the tree. I laid on my back and pushed myself underneath the tree. I looked up through the branches and was breathless for a moment, taking in the sight of the wondrous colors of the sparkling lights. Time stood still or so I thought. My Mom finally found me and broke me out of my spell. It was bedtime already.
Merry Christmas!
