The Basic Essentials of My Blogs and Writings
10/27/2018 5:13:42 PM

Ah writing, such an endearing exercise to those who think and look to correct their thinking and thinking patterns; or as I affectionately refer to it, growing up.

I like to think that I'm growing up.  Past all of the "old-fashion" world that my youth was confined to.  Not to say that those ways are obsolete by any means, but only to say I never felt like I was a part of them.  I enjoyed the places and peoples of my youth, however I was never one who thought I would or could live with such beliefs my entire life.

My mind was always off in some world of "when I grow up I'm going to...,  And,  I bet when I'm this age these things will be going on in the world and I'll be living somewhere I want, working a job that I'm well trained at and sharing time with family and acquaintances, coworkers and friends.  I never saw growing up as a bad thing or a distant initiative.  I also thought of growing up as something a person did everyday like eating or getting dressed.  It was a process of aging in the world that was suppose to open new areas of living in life.  An indicator of living well was the ability of a person to see their selves living in a future scenario of, while living practically in the now to obtain the life and living they wanted as they grew.

After all, every voice in the world says that's the way it is.  Parents, teachers, community leaders, mentors, radios, television, newspapers all telling us to live in today, plan for the future.  Do all that you can, as well as you can, so that you will have the possibilities of having better tomorrows than was yesterdays.  Not just for yourself, but for all of those in our life.  Working together with others was one way to improve the quality of life for all involved and more.  To think better of another was to plan for a tomorrow where time was spent on doing a job well, completing tasks designed to move you and yours into a future of accomplished comfort and well being.  I was taught, as I watched others, that a person could grow past the place they were into a place they had grown into by simple applications of planning and maturing and working towards their goals.

We all joke about ruling the world.  If I was this or if I was that I would or wouldn't do, but in reality it is our own personal world that we wish to have accomplished our goals in.  Those moments in life when, and as you grow, you think of little things such as I want this type of housing, or this environment or atmosphere to be obvious every day to myself.  Planning a small array of flowers or a fruit garden, listening to this type of music with this sort of décor and arts to portray the ambience of my growth through life into a collection of living that can progress through the years into a living testament of maturing over time.

So many times I have thought of my own aging as I do the natural world around me: trees, flowers, seasons.  How it all evolves over decades of time to become an entire landscape of development uninterrupted by small skirmishes with changing weather or moods of individuals around it.  Being of the mind that a natural progression over time was a far better way of growing than a rush to many impetuous decisions where more is lost in striving for a goal than accomplished.

People talk of a variety of changes they want to make in the lives, and the hustle and bustle of the awkward business classes demand that's how everything works.  But that's not what I have found to be true.  Realistic accomplishments requires planning.  It is a gathering and processing of information and resources and careful examination of all to make sure the plans made are able to be achieved and if not achieved in the first round to have a contingency plan in place to guarantee future events.

A good example of this would be writing.

We are taught very early in life how to make basic letters on paper.  Our alphabetic training stages are reinforced with learning a variety of words that contain each letter, and associated to pictures of objects to conjoin the idea of the letter to an object we are familiar with.  We repeat those cycles of learning every day, year after year, until we have built a vocabulary successful enough to express ourselves in writing simple sentences.  Building everyday sentence structures such as paragraphs to combine later in essays and short stories and various other types of writings.  We learn those things in order to learn something else: reading.

Reading is a basic essential of today's society.  Almost anything you can think of requires an individual to be able to read: job applications, directions for use of household products, how to assemble furniture, how to play a video game effectively moving from level to level, how to perform an occupation at work includes the use of reading skill.  We are surrounded by words at every turn in life.  Cell phones, computers, instruction manuals, warranties, car specifications, even as far as paying for your groceries at a grocery store now requires reading as a basic essential for living.

Some of us even go farther than that in the doing of reading and writing , such as this idea for a journal entry of my thoughts.

Writing became such a basic structure of living over the early stages of my life, in the most formative years of life, that it became a part of my most intricate inner self. Consider these other examples that learning to write can be likened to: eating, getting dressed, brushing your teeth, taking a bath, taking notes in school, writing for school assignments, making notes to remember chores, making grocery lists, writing down errands to do.  How basic can you get?!  It was as much a part of life as waking up and going to the bathroom.

Then came the years where I didn't even pick up a pen, or type on a keyboard to write as much as my name; and in those years there was an obvious part of me that was lacking being able to exist as it was suppose to because I wasn't intergrading all of my self into who I was.  Decades of time learning brought to a pause, years of reading and considering and looking for a way to express the ways I understood life (in general) lost to those moments of not expressing a daily routine or line of thinking at all.

The want to was there in my mind.  The want to wasn't there in my doing.  The two opposing ideologies were constantly ongoing in the matters of.  The debating of the doing was so often vocal in my thinking that I would ignore them both and move on to busying myself physically with something other than reading or writing.  I could easily shun myself into the non doing of it by redirecting the thoughts of to "well, it needs to be better thought out" or "I'm the only one who reads it any way so why waste the time in the writing when I can do the thinking."  What I didn't realize was that I was selling myself short, and by myself I mean to say that I was selling my own thoughts, my own personality and trueness of self short by not taking advantage of those innate longings to have something tangible and constructive to do.  I gave in to the idea that the television and radio and internet would entertain me enough to over ride any inkling I have to complete my own ideas.  But they didn't.  It was completely the opposite.  The further I was away from writing, the further I was away from that part of my personality that had learned to act constructively on my ideas.

In my mind the thoughts were there; where I failed myself was in expressing those via any form of communication between thought and constructive thinking.  Writing provides constructive thinking to continue and grow in an individual as they age and process information throughout their lives.  Processing information properly leads to better decision making, which leads to living better.

Thinking on it's own is just that, thinking and thinking is overtly over done with very little constructiveness at all.  As a matter of fact most well educated people have shared with society over the years what over thinking actually does.  It disturbs the senses of an individual to the point they often act, speak, or behave in a way that leads to unhealthy behavior rather than pro healthy behaviors that promote well living.

"Don't believe everything you think" I once read.  Well written I thought.  Not everyone believes everything they think or are told to think; but then again not every person heeds the innate calling to write their thoughts out; to apply thinking in a way to establish healthy thinking habits by jotting it in ink on paper, or typing it up in a journal or on a blog such as today's world encourages us to do.

Not every writer writes for fame and fortune.  As a matter of fact that class of people is a reserved group of people none of the rest of the world's simple word users will ever be able to liken ourselves to.  Then again, that was never the idea when most people first began writing.  It was something we were taught, something we learned, something we were instructed to use through out our lives to sort out ideas and follow a pattern of thinking that would lead us to communicating with our own thoughts in a healthier way.

Any one who thinks any different should try it for yourself sometime.  Find something to write on, sit down, and start writing what you think out.  You could surprise yourself as to how long a thought pattern can develop and how to best communicate those thoughts can take even longer than the writing there of.  As it was communicated to me over the years; no good writer ever stops writing.  They write because they think.  They think and then rewrite to correct not only their writing but their thoughts as they think further about what is wrote.  Then they write it again and think, and rewrite to correct not only their writing but the processes by which they have learned to think and write about.

Ah writing, such an endearing exercise to those who think and look to correct their thinking and thinking patterns; also known as, growing up.
