Snowing again and the kid next door is hiding 3/1/2005 2:34:30 PM
Where is that kid anyway. Well, here I am back in beautiful Toronto again, at least I think it is beautiful it looks so white. Some people say beauty is only skin-deep, but if that is true, Toronto has a very thick skin right now. Our western friends keep sending us those Alberta Clippers. Thanks guys, but right now we would prefer one of your Chinooks so we can warm up a bit and see what our city really looks like.
When I left here at the end of January, the path from the driveway to the front door was four feet wide. When I got back late on Friday evening the path was down to about eighteen inches and after last night’s fall is now about twelve. I am suspicious about that much snow on the walkway to my door and my main suspect is the kid next door. Hey kid, I know you had to find somewhere to put the snow from all the neighbours’ drives, but did you have to put it on my walkway.
Where is that darn kid anyway. I gave him a cheque for five dollars a week while I was away. What do you mean the cheque might have bounced, I did not think a cheque could bounce in all this snow. You mean the neighbours are now paying him $5 a snow fall rather than $5 a week. That kid is making a killing this year. There may be something to the rumour that he was seen getting into an airport limousine with a Hawaiian shirt on.
Oh well, I guess I will have to get the shovel out and widen that walkway. On second thoughts, that sounds pretty drastic. I had better watch Dave Duvall for the weather tonight and if a thaw is more than two days away, I’ll head back to Florida.
