Understanding God's love is forever...His patience endures...our choices are not always good...yet there is one choice we can make that can last for an eternity of love... GOD’S MERCY
God created man in His image and with the quality that made him a living being and not a robot…free choice. He loved His creation completely and only wanted the respect and honor due a father. When that respect was thrown in His face by immediate disobedience of doing the one thing they were told not to do, what would you expect a father to do? He punished them by taking away the piece of heaven He had set up for them and turning their lives into constant toil and struggle on a world gone wild. He could have destroyed them and started over again, but He let them live…just without the amenities.
That part of man that was of God’s image was left to suffer within a creature that was lost in self…
Eventually God saw His creation was determined to ignore His many gifts and so decided to end their misery and His own disappointment, almost. He kept one family who was devoted to Him and gave them a chance to start fresh, always honor He who created them. Again, His children failed Him...to the point of allowing the world of evil to guide their hearts in their deeds…to the point of finding little concern for the creature called man, but much for the piece they carried that was a part of Him. What mercy should a God show His creation when they spit in His face, defile His name…and so the old testament is filled with the sadness of man’s affliction of sin and bad choices.
With that said, let us now look at the true Love and Glory that is our God. Within the New Testament verses we find that through the great sacrifice of His own Son, our God provided a way for His children to come home, released of their burden of sin and bad choices. The evil men do upon men is on the hearts of men, not on God. God has provided the means to avoid evil and sin in this world through His word and by the blood of Jesus. The Holy Spirit still lives in all people…suffering in some under the constraints of the darkness that has enveloped this world in many, yet working in many, too, to bring freedom to each soul on this Earth, that they may avoid the lake of fire that will be opened up one day soon, and instead, live for an eternity on a new earth, under a new heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ..
