The Global interview went great!!
Seanna Collins kept me on track and was very friendly. She said after talking to me for 60 seconds she could tell I wasn't going to have any problems talking.
Now what exactly does THAT mean?
And then...
something terrible happened!
When I had arrived, a security guard had politely escorted me downstairs to the studio. After the interview, I thanked Seanna, shook her hand and exited the studio through a set of doors. This took me into a hallway with two EXIT signs, so I took one, thinking that I'd end up at the front desk somehow. NOT!!! After taking a few exits (one into a huge bay where they keep the vehicles, I realized I was LOST!
Now picture me wandering though the maze of dimly-lit hallways. It reminded me of all those movies where someone is in a hospital or huge building and goes to investigate a strange noise...notice how there's no one else around?? So here I am feeling very foolish, but unable to control my thoughts or laughter. I was laughing so hard (like a psych patient!)
I could just imagine all the security guards in their office. "Frank, we've got another one!" I can just see them, sipping on pop and munching on popcorn. Movie of the Week time! Maybe even blackmail material!
I started looking for cameras in the halls. "Hello...anybody??? I think I'm lost here!" (think???
)
Finally I reached a 'wonder of all wonders'--another flippin' EXIT sign. This time I came face to face with Seanna Collins...and I was...get this....
back outside the studio doors!
"Cheryl, I was just coming to find you," she said, apologizing. (Hmmm...wonder how she knew I was lost??)
"Seanna, this is Frank from security. Uh, Joe just spotted one of your guests wandering through our top-secret maze of unmarked doors and empty offices."
Then Seanna, being the wonderful investigative reporter that she is, found out that I had taken the wrong set of doors out of the studio. "I've been after them to get a sign on that door...."
(You think?? And maybe arrows on the walls!)
Yes, it was an experience...that's for sure. And I know I am not the only guest who has found themselves wandering the halls of Global. In fact, I am sure that some guests have never returned from their interview. They're still trying to find the *!$#$&#! way out!
Would I do it again? Be interviewed by Global and Seanna??
Damn right I would!
But this time I'm going to be implanted with a homing (ok, I had to fix this typo...it said 'hoing'...is that a Freudian slip?) beacon and a GPS system!
Yeah, there's nothing like being lost in the bowels of Global to give your spirit a boost.
P.S. What exactly do you think a 'hoing beacon' would do?
