Our Children need to be educated/re-educated on our history, where we came from and how we came to be where we are today. 

Black History Month is vital to their education process and should not be downplayed or overlooked.  Implementing and executing a Black History Program is not just another task to perform.  It is an obligation to our children and a much needed reminder for adults. 

Our children have lost appreciation for education if they ever had it.  They do not know or understand the struggles African -Americans overcame to have the right to a quality education. 

Education begins from within and knowledge is educed through a cultivating process of inner discipline.  If you do not have the self-esteem and the discipline to forego the process, it is harder to educe knowledge. 

Self-esteem is nurtured through awareness of one's history.  You must know yourself before you can begin to know anything else.  Self knowledge breeds self-esteem. 

We are loosing our history.  If we do not teach our children our history, who will teach their children?  If we loose our history we loose our children.  If they start off knowing they have something to be proud of and about, you can build upon that pride and their horizons are unlimited. 

If they knew they were derived from Kings and Queens, they will always know they do not derserve to be next to last from the bottom of the list.
