Final Paradox/Conduct in Question 6/20/2006 5:48:25 PM
The second book in the trilogy will be out [I hope] in the late fall. I am very much looking forward to the first two weeks of July which I have set aside to put the final touches on the second novel, which features the lawyer Harry Jenkins. Final Paradox is about fraud, murder, love and forgiveness but not necessarily in that order. I'm trying to explore the themes of love and forgiveness and compassion against a back drop of murder, fraud and scheming. All the characters express thoughts on the question "what is love."
Harry [the protagonist] is the perpetual seeker of secrity. He wants to 'fix' people in his life. His lover and guiding spirit, Natasha, tries to tell him that he must relax and let life happen or else he may drive love away.
Norma Dinnick, Harry's elderly client, believes that her deceased husband Arthur brought security and affection. Only George Pappas brought her to an understanding of lust. And then, she is truly puzzled by the protestations of love from her David.
Peter, the schemer, has no understanding of love. In fact, he seeks to frame both his wife and his lover, Roger, with murder.
