Conduct In Question is an immensely captivating read! As soon as you are introduced to The Florist, and to the main character Harry, you are drawn into a world where good and evil collide in many situations. Set against the backdrop of Canada's most powerful city that is Toronto, Mary E. Martin has managed to thrill and educate the reader in legal wheelings and dealings. You soon try to figure out how far each character will go to achieve money and power, while shedding their own morals aside in the process. A few of them survive, but some of them don't. An excellent thriller, with a likable main character, to start out a trilogy. Bring on the second and third books!

If you like seeing how the law can be misused but also be an effective tool to help the weak;if you like reading about truly believable characters caught up in events that surprise and delight,you'll love this book.Mary Martin makes great use of her experiences as an estate lawyer who practiced law in Toronto for over 25 years.Her lead character has to deal with fraudsters,families in conflict,and temptations of greed,personal and professional ethics.There's even a serial killer to raise the suspense to a high level.

This is a great thriller mystery written by an author who educates at the same time as entertaining you with a well written book. Insightful glances into the world of an Estate Law Practice, the conflicts of conscience & earning the big $$$$, & the moral issues of life many of us encounter in our lives. Harry, the main character, is a well developed character who struggles with these isses in his legal practice & his personal life. His story weaves with the thriller part of the plot, a serial killer who wishes to please a deceased mother -- weird, insane, brillant person??? Read the book & discover for yourself how the author presents & resolves this interesting tale. Book is along the likes of John Grisham, William Coughlin, John Lescroart, Steve Martini & Kate Wilhelem --- other great authors that I have read, who combine thrill & legal insights. I can hardly wait for the next book in this Trilogy.
