Promise of a Rainbow

Promise of a Rainbow
Everyone makes mistakes
at some point along the way,
Some are in what you do
and others in what you say.
The consequences they bring
can leave you in dark despair,
As if you were living in shadows,
black clouds hovering in the air.
You may feel like you are doomed
by the misdeeds of your past,
Knowing they can’t be undone,
fearful that they will last.
When you feel quite devastated,
unsure what you should do,
Offer it up to God,
let His love come shining through.
God’s light can break through the clouds
with the promise of a rainbow,
Splashing color into your life,
chasing away every shadow.
God offers a second chance
to repent and turn from your sorrow,
To learn from your past mistakes,
with God’s grace to face tomorrow.
