Newest novel ready for the presses! Well, its finally Done!
Yesterday, I spent time with a talented play write and new friend.
She has taken time out of her busy day to read and review my newest novel: "Sitting on the Edge of a Dream". I must say that I was nervous, very nervous when I first placed it in her hands - but yesterday I was almost petrified! It's never easy to sit and listen to a review of your work no matter how many times you do it.
Here is a little of what she said:
"Hey Paula,
Its me, I've just finished the book today and I wanted to let you know... I came by the house about 5 minutes ago to return the copy you gave me. Well you wanted honest feedback. I loveeeeeeeeee the book! A writer looks for all of the elements needed to create and write a story and you had all of them. It was a fun and scary journey with Kay because you created a world where one minute it looked like she would have what she wanted (Reginald) and then is some cases it looked like she'd lost what she wanted...it gave you the reason to be nervous for her and sad for her but then it was so realistic... because it made me go back to when I was a teenager and I remember feeling the same way she did with my first boyfriend...I was laughing so hard...girl...but yeah, I could not find anything that needed tweaking or anything because I even looked at it from a screenwriter standpoint and what I liked was that you show the location and the places and I was able to "see" everything in my mind as you wrote it. I saw VA and the scene in my mind when Kay went back to her grandfather's house during the summer, it was so real...where everybody was catching up with everyone. Kay's reminiscing was nicely done because I never got mixed up I knew when she was dreaming and when she was in her reality... and current life with Dave. Soooooooo I have to say it was nicely done!!! I definitely want to read it again when you publish it!!"
I then had the privilege of sitting in her presence and watching her speak to me about what I'd written. So it's my joy to announce to you that it has gone to the presses... awaiting the finalization of the cover art. I'm feeling great today!
