Waterlies coming out. New AKC rules. New rescue facility for horses in Illinois 10/24/2008 10:43:57 AM
New horse rescue facility in Illinois. AKC changes obedience rules.
Waterlilies Over My Grave will be out November 15th. CONTEST to be held based on excerpts that will be posted here and at my blogspot. www.paguthrie.blogspot.com NEWS:
For all you horse lovers out there, I just learned that Illinois will have a new rescue facility for abandoned and abused horses. They don't have a permanent location yet. You can go to their webite to see what they're up to.
For all you dog lovers out there. The American Kennel club (AKC) is making changes in its obedience trial rules. According the Paw Power Blues Dog Club (I belong to this great club in Lowell, Indiana) :
I. In UTILITY classes, all dogs will use the same number gloves. (there are three. The handler signals the dog to take the glove the judge requests) Now, all contestants will use the same glove.
2. In STAND FOR EXAM Judges will not handle the dog's tail. If I were a dog, I wouldn't want my tail handled either. LOL
3. Dog can earn their titles under two rather than three judges. (that makes it easier if you're at a weekend show and the club uses the same judgeds for each show.
NEWS: My book "Waterlilies Over My Grave" will be out on November 15th. In conjunction with Authorsden we'll be holding a contest that will go through November 15th when the book comes out. I'll be posting an excerpt and will ask questions pertaining to that excerpt. Look for it in the next few days. (or maybe even today)
Waterlilies can be pre-purchased at http//www.lightswordpublishing.com
It will be available at: Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Borders, waldenbooks and most other online book sellers. If you like your book and mortar stores, if the book isn't on the shelf, you can order it.
LOOK FOR THE TRAILER OF WATERLILIES OVER MY GRAVE COMING SOON.

New website "www.5minutemystery.com"
This originally came from the wonderful marketing group "Murder Must Advertise"
Murdermustadvertise.yahoogroups.com. I've gotten permission from Randy to post this on my blogs. This seems like a great way to get exposure. If you have questions, you can email Randy directly.

First I would like to thank Jeffrey Marks for approving me to post this question. My company
has recently launched a new web site called www.5minutemystery.com. The site publishes a
short (1200 to 1500 word) mystery each day. The reader identifies the clues and solves the
mystery, scoring points by doing so. We post the top sleuths, have leagues, fundraisers as
well as affiliate links and some other neat options. While we have gotten some very nice
press to date, it has mostly been within the technology sector. We are having no luck
whatsoever getting into the mystery market. Any suggestions on how to build awareness of
our site?
We are also having a hard time finding new authors to write stories for us and our preference
is to have as many different writers as possible. We do pay $50 for each short mystery
purchased. How do we build awareness among authors?
If anyone would like to try the site for 10 days for free, you can use promo code advermurder10day.
Thank you in advance. If you would prefer to contact me off list, my direct email is
