Summer is a time of growing....and it's a time of good health and anticipation. We should revel in the magic of this season......so SMILE! Summer is a time of growing.....gardens, hay, animals. I watch the birds as they tackle the task of tending their young and I work in the garden, already anxious for the produce we'll be picking and using; I watch the new foals and calves running helter-skelter in the sunshine, and it all fills me with expectation and joy.
It makes me SMILE. It fills me with energy and a desire to do more, give more, BE more......
Robert Louis Stevenson is quoted as saying...
So long as we love we serve; So long as we are loved by others, I would almost say that we are indispensable; And no one is useless while they have a friend.
Leo Buscaglia, the author who writes beautifully about love, says....
Only when we give joyfully, without hesitation or thought of gain, can we truly know what love means.
And Mother Teresa, perhaps the world's most generous woman, once said about smiles....
Smile at each other, smile at your wife, smile at your husband, smile at your children, smile at each other - it doesn't matter who it is - and that will help you to grow up in greater love for each other.
So, as summer blooms, we should all work at letting our love bloom, our hearts bloom, our friendships bloom, our graciousness bloom.
Let us all do more and be more, especially in our immediate worlds. Don't we have enough anxiety and confusion growing in our midst to perhaps temper it with more gracious attitudes?
