This is about my thoughts so far on my new book, A Royal Tantrum! Well finally have my new book, A Royal Tantrum finished and uploaded on lulu.com. However, I think I am soon going to set it to private...erase my illustrations and try to submit it to a publisher.
I do not think I am a horrible illustrator but Im not a professional and overall I am not all that happy with the outcome. A professional could make it look so much better and really get the story put out there in pictures.
The only thing about submitting to this one publisher I found that does not mind unsolicited work wants you to have submitted to only them for 3 months. Also, you will only know that you are getting published not if they dont like your book. So I will then have to wait 3 months before I try anywhere else. But I figure why not and at least try!
I was going to submit the book to a self publishing contest where you could win 3,000.00 and some good recognition but again I am just not all that pleased with how my illustrations have turned out. I am probably in the near future going to purchase a graphing tablet from ebay and try that out so none of my drawings lose the clarity by being scanned onto the computer. I only know what I have read concerning the graphing tablet and I would love for anyone who reads this to share their knowledge on the product!

Quick history about why I wrote this book: Well I am an educator as people can tell from the title of my blog. In my 4 years of teaching I have witnessed some crazy and outrageous temper tantrums especially since I am a Kindergarten teacher! In general too I have been out and about shopping, eating dinner, and etc and witnessed children having temper tantrums. I am sure that I have even had one or more when I was little. Of course being an adult now I cannot stand them and want to have discussions with my students about how temper tantrums do not solve anything! So I wrote this book to do just that. I recently shared the book with my kindergarten students. I waited until after I read, discussed the book, and how they liked it to tell them that I was the author. While reading I could tell they were really engaged and we had a great discussion about how silly temper tantrums really are! They also all liked the story! So that was great..you can really get some good feedback from kids!
