IN DEFENSE OF PUBLISH AMERICA 5/29/2008 5:21:31 PM
For all of those who have pegged Publish America a scam or just a POD, I feel sorry for you. Publish America has provided me the platform to get my work out to readers as well as have fulfilled all of their contractual agreements. I am very pleased with their service thus far, and for all the naysayers, just keep your comments to yourselves.
The cover they created for my book is phenomenal. Also, for those who say that PA doesn't do any editorial work, they actually do. They wouldn't allow me to submit my final manuscript without all of the errors taken care of. Plus, they found some themselves. Also, PA is publishing my work with no up front fees. So what if my work won't be on the shelves of major book stores. There are plenty of new writers who have books that just sit on the shelves and don't sell a single copy. And as far as self promotion, I don't mind it. What new author doesn't have to put in a little foot work to get their work out to the masses.
So, in defense of Publish America, I must say that the experience has been great so far. I just feel sorry for those who have written them off. Peace, and I will forever be...
