Howard Dean is getting screwed, and from the looks, of it, it can't feel very good. His Iowa caucus night speech to supporters was not out of line.

Now, thanks to the sickening, elitist pundits in the news media, we can't even be human anymore. We can't be passionate, angry, happy, energetic and enthusiastic unless they say we can and unless we act the way they say we should.

I'm no Dean supporter and so I was curious to see how poorly he had behaved. The newspaper stories suggested that he belonged in a nut house. I found the clip on the Internet, and yikes! Dean had done nothing wrong. He was loud and was shouting and was passionate and enthusiastic--the things you'd think we'd want in a politician. He wasn't an angry lunatic who was dumping all over his opponents and spewing hateful venom. He was a guy who was trying to enthuse his supporters. He did a hell of a job at it, and he was smiling when he screamed.

What's wrong with that?

Nothing--except to the news media elitists who seem to think that candidates must behave the way they demand. What should Dean have done, dropped his head and mumbled something like, "We probably won't win anywhere else and so why bother trying. We shall always give up. My opponents are better than I am?"

That's what then pundits want. Well, screw 'em.

Dean did nothing wrong in Iowa, and don't let the media elitists convince you otherwise.
