A praise to illustrators of picture books! I have been working very hard on the illustrations for my picture book Master Stinky Dances and have come to realize exactly why illustrators get half the royalties for picture books. It is very difficult and time consuming work!
This is the first of my books that I have actually illustrated with my own artwork by hand, and it has taken me three days to illustrate and scan the images that I have so far. I am only half way finished! What a task! Writing comes easy to me, but the illustrations, even though I think they are turning out well, are taking forever. So, in light of this new knowledge, I would like to say, "Kudos to you who illustrate for a living! You are truly deserving and amazing!"
