Moving On With My Paranormal Romance Manuscript 9/4/2008 6:33:46 PM
With the lastest of my re-read / rewrite / editing changes of the hard copy of my paranormal romance manuscript entered into WORD; I have just completed a search for the word "THAT" in my manuscript. "THAT" is a word which many times adds nothing to a sentence and can easily be eliminated. "THAT" many times I feel creates a mental pause in the reading of a story; which can slow down the read of the story by the reader.
I am now moving on to doing a complete search for the killer word "WAS". "WAS" turns many good sentences into passive ones. One needs to add strength and action into a story, eliminating "WAS" and rewriting the sentence it's in will correct the problem. It is a slow and tedious process, but it is a process which needs to be done to achieve a successful manuscript and book
