Is it really better to be safe, and easier to become sorry? Is it easier in ones' life to stay "safe" and then better to later become "regretful?" After all, now is more important than later. Isn't it?
We can always imagine what the future holds, strive toward what we desire, and remain safely secluded until that turning point. Who exactly was it that first discovered and advised, "Better safe, than sorry?"
