Today is the most monumental day for 'The City of Gardens Collection'. I am having a meeting today that will determine the fate of the book series. The Greater Victoria Coalition to End Homelessness Society is the main focus of 'The City of Gardens Collection'. Today I will have a meeting with the executive director of this organization.
Both sides are meeting today to test the waters. Since so much of the book series centres around this organization, it only makes perfect sense that we collaborate with each other. I presume that both sides are being very cautious in this first meeting,
If all goes well, it may lead to a cooperative joining that can be benificial to both sides. The coalition shows interst into the project and does want to become more involved.
It seems logical that if someone is writing a five book series on you and your organization that it is in your best interest to become involved.
They have no control over what is being written, but they can supply more accurate information about what is going on.
Unfortunately, the issue is serious and needs to be aggressively made aware of and needs quite an abrupt and bold delivery. To paint a rosy picture does not accurately portray the actual happenings on the street. I will not doctor the book's content just to please people, that is not the intention.
The book is designed to stir up emotions and provoke thought. I cannot do this if I sugarcoat the content to make it easier to swallow. It is a ugly situation and must be told that way to accurately convey the truth on the streets.
There is no way to water it down, the truth speaks for itself. I cannot write about a negative situation and pretend that it is positive.
If the kettle is black, I will call it black. If if wanted to write a pretty book about Victoria, it would have been a tourist guide or a ppromotional publication. There are more than enough of those on book store shelves now.
There is only one book that will not paint a rose without its thorns. I see what the tourists see. It seems that Victoria wants to protect their image, but are unwilling to work for it. I fight with my fists, I don't pull hair.
Disparity is just that, no matter what angle you look at it. Victoria has a huge brown skid mark in its underpants, it's time for a change.
