I just finished The Manhattan Hunt Club by John Saul. It's probably the best book I've read by him and among the ten best books I've ever read. I'd call it the second best, if not for one glaring problem at the end. The prolog just lacked the detail I needed.
My favorite book of all time is The Long Walk, by Richard Bachman (aka Stephen King.) It, like The Manhattan Hunt Club is about a deadly contest. I see a pattern forming.
I watched the movie The Happening (spoiler ahead) a few days ago, and thought it was much better than the reviews I read. I loved the inductive reasoning of the main character and the general theme of planet attacking us.

I watched the movie Feast last night. (Spoiler alert) Great movie. It took all your stereotypes about horror movie characters and turned them upside down.
