The Perching Skull

Now… at long last, I’ve got some of my videos on YouTube. We had such a riot making them and I was wondering if I was ever going to be able to share with the world…(you). You can find them at…. http://www.youtube.com/user/effexus3 … They were mostly driven by our latest backpacking adventure on the Bruce Trail in Ontario Canada. We trekked off of the trail to find the most unique site. It had all of what anyone could ask for in a camp. In the clips we’ll show you our kitchen with running water, dining room, fireplace, bed, cupboard (hanging bear bag). Yup. We are far up enough to possibly run into a beastie of a brown furry nature. It’s odd that there are people willing and wanting to chance this hazard. Hmmmm. Strangely enough we set up our base camp and trekked for the rest of the day. We returned through the brush to the log that bridged the stream guiding us to our site. Kim approached the decomposing stump that we passed on our way in. Perched upon it, a skull was resting in the craggy rotting center. We couldn’t figure out how it eluded us at the onset of our site discovery. It wasn’t a human skull, (unless it was shrunken). The jaws protruded with several jagged gnawing tools lining the expanse. It was the size of my clenched fist with deep eye sockets that seemed to shriek… “Stay away!” Possibly someone stationed it there in another time. Its’ voodoo intended to ward off intruders. It was really cool. Our dead voodoo friend is featured in one of the YouTube videos. What can I say…we had fun.
