NaNoWriMo Day 8: 16883 Words

Do you ever feel your writing in your gut?
I found that my main character had the gaul to challenge me the write. She that that I was not doing my best to portray her and what she was trying to accomplish me.

She challenged my experience base -- and you know what -- she is right.

Right or wrong, I started Week 2 on a roll. As I explained to my husband last night, I did not feel bad about stopping for the day when I saw the next step to take.

By the way, my husband plays a critical role in my success. Last year he made a point of asking me for my word count every evening, and he has kept it up this year.

He would even ask for the word count as I was sitting in front of the TV with my laptop increasing my word count as he nagged and goaded me along.

It is essential that you have someone that is going to push you like this. It is too easy to blow off the daily writing session when you become busy.
