The Annoying Flies In Your Life 6/30/2013 10:13:16 AM
Flies for most people represent disease, decay and death besides being annoying, pestering little creatures that buzz around your ears and face in hot weather. Often landing on food and flocking to feces and other decomposing things. However like every other living thing flies have a reason for existing.
For Forensic Entomologist, they (maggots) serve the purpose of establishing the time of death in human’s corpse and the place of death. They also identify chemicals presented in a person’s body at the time of death. In addition to that flies feed on dead carcasses aiding in the decomposition process.
Flies are also a source of food for toads, spiders, birds and other animals and insects. “And the reason flies swarm around a person face and head is because they are attracted to carbon dioxide in the breath,” (Courtesy of Jeffery Hann, University of Minnesota Extension Service).
Like the fly which serves a purpose in the world so does the words, low self-esteem, self-doubt, brokenness and other words related to these. These words reflect the assessment of a person’s self-worth in their eyes. Negative feelings about one’s self can lead a person into a place that can be detrimental to ones physical and mental health, such as drug abuse, food disorders, suicide and alcoholism. But there is always a bright light at the end of the tunnel. Negative words and emotions can be exchange for new ones, such as secure, self- assured and confident. Positive words can redefine the life, feelings and character of women in spite of the adversities they’ve experienced.
This is why Mending Hearts Newsletter was established. The objective is to uplift, encourage and to inspire all women to embrace who they are. Women no longer have to be bound by low self-esteem, self-doubt, brokenness and hurt due to situations, experiences or circumstances.
Women hold the key to their happiness and once the veil is removed from their eyes the sun will shine brighter. Their smiles will glow and their pearly whites will show. They will learn to love themselves, (self-love) first. Acknowledging and then accepting that they have a purpose and a destiny to fulfill in this world.
As the fly touches the lives of many leaving its mark in the world, women it’s time for you to shake the dust off your feet, the chains off your ankles and start taking baby steps towards your future that holds so many positive opportunities for you. Beside you have a story to tell that will transform the lives of other women that believe they’re alone in this world? And that no one understands their pain or struggles.
Flies have never allowed negativity to deter them from their purpose in the earth. They continue to swarm and enjoy the carbon dioxide that escapes the breath of humans. They assist the leather leaf tree through there pollination process. And no one wants to be eaten but flies often sacrifice their life so that tad poles, spiders and birds can survive.
Now if a fly can accomplish so many positive things in its short life span that means (women) you can too. You just have to find what your good at and then make it work for you. Everyone has a talent or two or three. The key to your happiness has been placed back into your hands, open the door. Smell the fresh air, step outside and let the earth become your footstool.
