Blogs by Ann M Streetman Work of Love 7/25/2013 9:36:05 AMWriting "The Victrola" was a work of love for me. Although it is fictional, it is loosely based on my grandmother "Mammy," whom I adored. She, like the woman in this 1920s short story, did not have an easy life, but she knew who she was and how to make the lemons life handed her into fine lemonade. And, she was lucky in love the second time around. I know Mammy rocked in real life. In all my stories, I seek to make my characters rock for the right reasons. I hope I succeeded with Mary and Bill in "The Victrola." Please let me know what you think of the story. Thanks for stopping by.
