My life has been ridiculously busy for the past several months, caring for my ailing mother and now wrapping up her affairs, so I've posted no blogs recently, no new poems have found their way onto my Authors Den pages in months, and the sequel to my first book is several months behind schedule.
But I've never stopped writing.
I wrote a fabulous (in my opinion) poem during the Christmas season about God's generosity in giving us Christ. I wrote a vitriolic blog venting about the greedy, vulture-like people who descended on me as soon as my mother died, all asking me, “Are you going to sell the house?” and “What are you going to do with that air conditioner?” On my all-time favorite holiday, Easter, I wrote a moving, poetic tribute to my Lord and Savior. And my next novel is three quarters of the way written!
The only problem is that none of those creative efforts have made it onto paper (or onto the internet). They're all in my head, complete with highlights and revisions and notes to myself about research I need to do.
That counts, doesn't it? After all, Jesus said in Matthew 5:28 that just thinking wrong thoughts about another person is equivelant to actually committing the sin, so shouldn't thinking about writing this stuff be as good as actually getting it down on paper?
Okay, so maybe that's stretching it. How about Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he...” ? No? Oh, well, I tried.
But the fact that I finally managed to carve out the time to sit here and type out this little bit of nonsense hopefully means that one day soon I'll have time to go back and pull all those things out of my head and type them out so I can twist and tweak and decimate them to the point that they're fit for public viewing.
As soon as that happens, I will again begin to post whatever oozes out of my brain through my fingertips onto Authors Den for your reading...er-enjoyment?
It's good to (almost) be back!
