How Hollywood Is Out To Destroy the World - Part Two 1/10/2015 10:08:26 AM
A continuing look at how Hollywood art and international politics mix with negative results. Part One is posted exclusively at http://www.kitkingdomwhatsinaname.com Ok, I guess that we survived the mostly on demand release of “The Interview,” but that movie hardly marks the first time that Hollywood has tried to stir up nightmarish international trouble.
Look at how pissed off the Iranian government got over Argo, and it ain’t easy getting those guys mad. They’re like among the mellowest of dudes EVER!
Hell, it’s not even the only time during the departed of late holiday season that the city of angels has thrown caution to the wind in the face of someone unable to take criticism, let alone a joke.
Speaking of hell, enter the newest work from Angelina Jolie, which she directed. This movie has Japan plotting another Peal Harbor.
In “Unbroken” Angelina takes a look at the glamorous lifestyle enjoyed by the inmates, one in particular, of a WW2 Japanese prisoner of war camp, and the Japanese are all up in arms and ready to start another war over the film because they’re still feeling sensitive concerning their role in the war of seventy years past. I don’t worry too much over their hurt feelings because I’m sure they remember the outcome the last time that they tangled with us, and as Crazy Kim was and probably still is trying so hard to discover, we’ve upgraded immensely since the days of the atomic bomb that they got to know and love so much.
(Of course, long before this movie Angelina was clearly out to destroy at least the world of entertainment. A perfect example of this is the chick flick “Gravity”. That was truly out of this world! Traditionally science fiction has been a male dominated category (populated more so by nerds than anyone else), but with her and every guy’s favorite actor (not!), pretty boy George Clooney, knocking boots together in space in this tragic tale of love and lost, forget about it. It’s not even a fun in an evil sort of a way tragic tale of love and lost like “What’s In a Name?” is. Those two pretty folk don’t know nothin’ about bleedin’! This movie was made for dames to drag their boyfriends and husbands to. “Look, honey, this looks like a good one, you like science fiction and adventure.” This just has gag me written all over it. Maybe if it had been shot as a porno flick I might be able to muster a better review.)
“The Interview” and “Argo” and “Unbroken” are all fine examples of why Hollyweird needs to be put on a leash, but them trying to destroy the world is hardly a modern concept.
Why, the movie capital sent Ronald Regan into politics and eventually to the nation’s capital, where he won two for the Gipper and became the most notorious president of the last century.
(Not to be confused with the most devious president of the last century. This honor falls to someone who was always good at rising to the occasion, see Monica Lewinsky for further details, Bill Clinton. It was between Richard Nixon and Clinton, but as Bill managed to stay in office after being impeached, I have to give the edge to him. But then again, he was a lawyer before he got disbarred.)
They just don’t build ‘em like the ole Ronny anymore, and I do mean build. It’s a little known fact, but he was assembled by movie executives and Teamsters on a closed set in a back lot.
