TIS THE SEASON

Tis the season to be jolly. Unfortunately, tis also the season when the media uncorks their Year in Review programs. Frankly, much of the news was bad enough the first time around. Why the hell would anybody want to be reminded of it again? I think it would be more in keeping with the holiday spirit if there was a temporary blackout of news programs for a few days. Perhaps, occasionally, no news would be is good news.
Clearly, much of Donald Trump's appeal is a consequence of the widespread dissatisfaction among the general U.S. population with the current political administration and, in particular, with the President. It is also due to the growing dissatisfaction with the U.S. media. The media's biased and bogus reporting are a disgrace to the high principles of journalism and have undermined most of its credibility. Every time the volcanic gasbags at CNN like Marc Lamont Hill & Van Jones spout their rubbish, Trump's poll ratings go up. Media mediocrity has reached epidemic proportions but, enough of this lest I start sounding like a gasbag myself.
