GERMANY ERWACHT!

Deutsche Welle, the internationally broadcast German TV channel, is an excellent source of European news that is widely available throughout the world. Much like France’s Canal 2 Internationale (Channel 2) and the BBC’s World News, Deutsche Welle bears the characteristic note of German precision and communicates a certain ‘no nonsense’ style of seriousness that greatly appeals to individuals like myself, who are generally repelled by highly emotional, disproportionately sensationalistic American style televised media broadcasting.

American style broadcasting is, after all, owned, controlled and managed by the same marketing forces that produce pop-entertainment (hence the modern term ‘info-tainment’). As a result, American style media broadcasting all follows a certain general pattern, whether national in scope (ABC, CBS, NBC) or local. The fact that this pattern also seems to prefer employment of drop-dead beautiful female anchors (slender bodies, long hair and large tits are all key hiring assets, apparently) in a correlated manifestation of deeply imbued sexism that still thrives, thank you very much, in America today.

The reporting itself, whether done by male or female personalities, is generally delivered with a highly emotional affect (think: Manuel Alamaguer), as if every single aspect of a story is a startling development in and of itself. To a great extent, this trait is mirrored by popular (with the intellectually dull masses, at least) so-called ‘reality TV’ programming, which tends to make a titillating drama out of just about anything imaginable. This curious quirk is probably indictful of the fact that far too many Americans are spiritually imprisoned by dreary, boring existences mandated by unrelenting & oppressive debt (for cars, homes and expensive non-essential consumer goods they have been told they need); hence the ‘bored’ housewife ‘escapist’ programs that are such dreary anathema (The ‘Ellen DeGeneres’, ‘Steve Harvey’, ‘Doctor Phil’, ‘Judge Judy’ and ‘Doctor OZ’ shows, to name just a few notoriously stereotypic examples of this pathetic genre).

Sadly, although it was for years an unimpeachable standard for excellence in broadcasting, even the BBC’s relatively new ‘BBC America’ programming (carried through PBS affiliates) has become susceptible to the prevailing low-levels of commonality reflected by American TV audiences.

Today, while watching the latest Deutsche Welle (DW) news program, I was caught out by the latest coverage of a series of very recent 'terrorist' outrages perpetrated by deranged individuals in Germany and France claiming an association with ISIL, the most recent being a suicide-type bombing in Ansbach Germany (Bayern). In this particular cased, a 27 year old Syrian immigrant carried out his attack claiming to be acting in the name of Islam (as have all the others, whether actually affiliated with ISIL or acting alone as 'lone-wolf' type sympathetic to Islamic extremist causes). After attempting to enter a music festival being held in that city, he was refused entry due to his lacking an admission ticket. Shortly thereafter he sat down at a nearby outdoor cafe outside the festival and detonated his explosive vest, injuring a number of people who were enjoying glasses of beer there.

The other recent incidents included a 17 year old boy of Syrian extraction in Germany who showed up at a mall and started shooting passers-by with his guns (killing several and wounding a number of others), the horrific murder of a Catholic priest kneeling at his alter in Normandy (France) by several terrorists (who also took hostages there), and of course the recent running-down of scores of French citizens by truck in Nice (who were celebrating Bastille Day), driven by an erstwhile Islamic terrorist.

All of these absolutely atrocious occurrences in the name of Islam (whether actually initiated by ISIL or merely carried out by emotionally imbalanced and socially disaffected youths radicalised by ISIL’s rhetoric of hatefulness) have renewed active, damning criticisms against German Chancellor & the Christian Democratic Party’s chief Angela Merkel, and her 'open arms' welcoming policy of taking in scores of Syrian immigrants, despite lacking any coherent plan to acculturate and supervise their presence in the interim. That criticism, which has been constantly directed towards Merkel since she initiated the seemingly spontaneous reception of Syrian emigres, promises to refocus and greatly amplify existing acute reaction against possible further similarly ill-advised actions.

In my experience, having lived & worked for more than 15 years in the Middle East (Saudi Arabia & Kuwait) with several Arab state military & aviation defense agencies (as well as based on my own academic studies of Arab history and civilisation), Europe is committing an egregious breech of common sense in encouraging immigrants from Syria (and that general Middle East area) to settle in Europe. Those like myself who have worked along with and among the Arab peoples all too well understand the extremely emotional volatility that accompanies Islamic dogma and likely share my extreme disapprobation with Germany’s surprisingly naïve ‘open door’ immigration policy.

A former Egyptian flat-mate of mine while in KSA, a research PhD who worked at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center in Riyadh, once explained this highly emotional religious outlook maintained by Islamic people on the nature of the climatic extremes Islam and the peoples of that region have existed within for centuries. That is to say (and as simplistic as it may sound), the cycle of severely hot days and substantially cold nights that characterises existence in the Middle East has, over the centuries, had a tremendous impact upon the lives of the Arab peoples inhabiting this unique supra-equatorial ‘geoclime’. While this theory may seem absurdly facile to those unfamiliar with the Middle East’s climate & geology and the subtle consequences it has had for its inhabitants, it makes perfect sense to myself and others who have experienced this dynamic at close hand, for a protracted period. When your daily life is characterised by extreme swings of heat and cold (the high desert is very cold at night, surprisingly), this nuance formatively (if subtly) shapes outlooks and opinions that are often also irreconcilably polar.

Arabs are not noted for being possessed of an inherent sense of moderation. Rather they tend to have extremely disparate opinions, outlooks and attitudes that color the decisions, actions and affairs of their daily lives accordingly. That is, there are few ‘shades of gray’ in an Arab region dominated by diametrically polar lifestyle opposites. Islam, a religion that emerged in the midst of this desolate region, therefore reflects this extremist radical climatic Weltanschauung perfectly in the excesses of its religious dogma.

For this reason, and contrary to all the moderate Islamicists’ claims (i.e. “Islam is not a violent religion but the opposite: a peaceful one”), admitting people from this part of the world to a highly traditional European region with centuries of strong social coherence is simply fraught with potentially serious problems and difficulties.

When one takes this backstory, unwisely mixes it with extreme religious (Islamic) sentiment, then further admixes it with the natural and immature instability & volatility of youthfulness, the resultant mixture takes on the virulent nature of pure Nitroglycerine, a quite explosive substance that, quiescent one moment, can violently erupt in the next, often discharging for the most trivial & superficial of reasons.

Germany today continues to suffer from a tragically burdensome sense of collective guilt, stemming from the excesses of the Hitler regime. The dominant political parties in Germany all accordingly reflect profoundly liberal leftist sentiments, tremendously influenced by the growth of post-war socialist orientations and the growing, politically correct world-wide ‘progressive’ movement. Further, today’s younger generations of Germans, all of whom grew up in the shadow of post-war political eschewments of Nazism and who have been formatively influenced by purges of National Socialist residues (read: those principally raised within a cultural environment embracing progressive leftist ideologies) are consequently extremely naïve, both politically and socially, and are far too trusting of ‘outsiders’ that popular leftist ‘diversity dogmatists’ passionately urge them they must unquestionably embrace as ‘brothers’.

This has led to the present situation wherein Middle Eastern peoples are regarded by these younger Germans as merely slightly different ‘other’ peoples who may be easily and willingly acculturated into European traditions, social patterns and economic infrastructures. To some great extent we have the smothering ‘one-world’ culture of popular American style capitalist consumerism to thank for that, but as many of us know, American style capitalism is not among the most altruistic and ennobling expressions of democratic economic organization, based upon narrowly focused ‘for profit’ capitalism as its core pattern.

The fact that the world has been drawn closer together in a sort of superficially shared ‘materialism’ (thanks largely to powerful international corporations and their multi-billion dollar marketing campaigns) should not hide nor disguise the fact that regardless of market superficialities, economic and socio-religious expectations of people from radically different parts of the earth as are Europe and the Middle East remain totally incompatible with each other and actually have about as much in common, culturally speaking, as night and day (a radically polar analogue, however appropriate)!

In fact, the million+ Syrian immigrants that have already been taken into Germany have started to suffer the same sort of severe economic and social ostracisms in Germany that disenchanted North Africans have suffered from in France for decades, and when they find it is actually quite difficult to acculturate themselves into the existing milieu (European culture, esp. that of Germany), the stage is set for the sort of spontaneous explosions of social outrage and frustration that we have recently seen occurring in France and Germany. Try as one may, swarthy people with pronounced Arab accents, Islamic beliefs and markedly different traditions will ALWAYS encounter difficulty attempting to successfully integrate into a uniformly homogenous and dominant culture of white Christians. The American example of white persistence in not fully accepting blacks as equals, with the consequent racisms that developed over the past 200 years, is just as valid in terms of serving as a lab model in Germany today as it has been in the United States since post Civil War days.

As an individual with Germanic extraction who has always maintained a great affinity for and fondness of traditional German cultural customs and mores, I therefore find myself looking with alarm upon the Merkel policies of welcoming Arab immigrants with unqualified bon homme as being dangerously naïve and half-baked to an absurd extent! Further, having a pronounced Bavarian bias, where beer and beer halls are an inextricable part of daily life, the idea of immigrant Islamic people agreeably coexisting seidel-to-seidel with Weihenstephan swilling Bayerischers is virtually laughable! All the slick leftist soft-soap ‘brotherhood’ arguments notwithstanding, Islam is simply NOT a good match for German culture.

Despite Germany’s great timidity and its wish not to appear outspoken and/or standing outside the popular progressive leftist political paradigm, this reluctance to be decisive about suitably adjudicating cultural affairs must be firmly resisted and positive steps taken to prevent further ‘dismemberment’ of traditional German culture by the present chaotic influx of markedly dissimilar Arab peoples.

While I am, of course, sympathetic to the plight of any and ALL social/political refugees from other nations and political regions (no truly rational person willingly tolerates torture, oppression and broadly directed overt violence), I DO NOT want to see the traditional Germany I have always accepted and enjoyed transmogrify into the sort of ethnic chaos that was characterised in Serbia/Bosnia/Herzegovina as recently as the 80s. Yet extreme cultural disruption of that sort is as possible today as it was when the Ottoman (Islamic Caliphate) Empire nearly succeeded in subjugating all of Europe back in the 1600s.

Few people are at all well versed in the history of that formative period of intense & bloody conflict in European history when the scattered, internecine and always fragmented duchies of Europe’s regional nobles could barely agree amongst themselves as to consensual policies of (Christian) faith, let alone unify militarily to keep the Turks from finally overwhelming the always tenuous Habsburg confederation, thereby establishing Islam as the central faith of all Europe. This battle against the Islamic (Ottoman) invaders was almost a never-ending fixture of the entire mid-to-late 1600s of European history, complicated even further as it was by the earlier and devastating 30 Years War (between evangelical Lutherans and Roman Catholics), and not even ending in 1683, when the Habsburgs at last (but barely) succeeded in repulsing the Caliphate’s armies at the gates of Vienna.

If all of the foregoing sounds like some sort of plea to preserve ‘Volkish’ purity, then make of it what you shall, but I for one do NOT want to sit at a Stammtisch in my favorite German or Austrian biergarten and make ‘nice’ with strangely mannered Arab-speaking people who at any moment may go off on a whim and try to harm me or my friends out of misguided and grossly conflicting religious convictions. And I certainly hope that Germany, with its own often overlooked past, unhappy experiences with unsuccessfully acculturated Turkish ‘gastarbeiters’ (in the post-war 50s), is wise and courageous enough to stand up to Merkel’s smarmy Christian Democrats and firmly say ‘stop all this unqualified immigration’ now (and hope that the devil has not already been irreparably released from his shackles)!

Despite Santayana’s famed admonishment about failing to learn from the lessons of the past, human memory is notoriously capricious and myopic. It is well past time for Germany to accept the fact that the past is the past and proceed with plans to be firmly resolved in the face of the overwhelmingly adverse leftist progressive liberalism that will, unless firmly dealt with, surely destroy centuries of Germanic European culture in the immediate future as certainly as Hitler destroyed Germany in the tragic 1940s.

On that note, it should be noted that very recently Jewish ‘Shoa’ (Holocaust) myth-spinner and anti-Nazi activist Ellie Wiesel passed away. While Wiesel managed for decades to foist off his largely hyperbolised story of the extreme and singular suffering Jewish people endured at the hands of the German National Socialists…even winning a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts…his historical revisionist tactics have more recently been shown to be largely distorted, exaggerated and conveniently mythologized with regard to the actual facts of the so-called ‘Holocaust’. Despite the ever present risk (run by academicians and scholars attempting to debunk his wildly distorted, overstated and aggrandised accounts) of being dismissed as anti-Semitic (a sure-fire leftist liberal Jewish tactic to slam the door closed on ANY balanced, objective appraisals of that period), indisputable evidence has surfaced in the most recent decades demonstrating that although a great many Jews were indeed persecuted (often most horrifically), the overall figure of 6 million Jews ‘killed’ by the Nazis proposed by Wiesel and his cohorts is factually and historically deficit beyond reasonable doubt (the curiously constant and specific figure of ‘6 million Jews persecuted & killed’ had remained in regular reference for many decades BEFORE the excesses of Hitlerian Germany occurred, actually, with a range of documents, books and conversations available to considerably antedate Wiesel’s inflated arguments!)

In fact, although the subtle, often shadowy involvement of Jews and Zionists to keep Wiesel’s fantasy alive and constantly in the faces of Americans has often been underplayed, dismissed and/or completely declaimed by anti-Nazi activists, the truth of the matter is that those same powerful Jews and Zionists have continuously striven to keep this guilt-riddled Holocaust shaming moralism firmly affixed before the collective American consciousness. After all, isn’t their stock exhortation “Never forget!”?

It is in fact well past time to ‘forget’ and to get on with life in our modern age. Only now that many of these older Jews and radical Zionists are dying off, has some of that unrelenting pressure been reduced, although a look at such contemporary media operations such as the so-called ‘History Channel’ TV programing will quickly reveal the extent both of Jewish sentiments towards that end AND their efforts to saturate the viewing public with an unceasing reminder of Nazi atrocities. Ironically, the phrase ‘Forgive & forget’ is Christian, isn’t it?’ ‘Never forgive and never forget’, on the other hand is distinctly Jewish.

Wiesel himself, through a number of books written about his own supposed personal experiences in the Nazi ‘Holocaust’ (and supported by a strongly unified coterie of fellow Holocaust myth-spinners), managed not only to become ‘beautified’ as a virtual Jewish ‘saint’ in the pantheon of Jewish persecution mythology, but to carve out a nice little (and not un-lucrative) niche for himself that provided meaning, recognition and fulfilment for him personally. How nice that he was able to make such a great living promoting the largely hyped ‘eternal persecution’ of his fellow Jews! [After all, it’s not the ‘destination’ that matters, but the ‘journey’…]

If one paid serious attention to Wiesel’s exhortations and gave them full and unquestioned credibility, one would think that Jews are the only single and exclusive subject of directed violence and brutality in the history of the world, when far from it, the forces of violence and bestial behavior have been distributed throughout the world, age after age, and brought to bear on virtually all peoples and cultures. Perhaps one of the contributing motivations underlying the Jewish persecution mania is the fact that Judaism is BOTH a religion and a culture…a quality not shared with virtually any other human group.

I would strongly suggest, for any of you unreconstructed bleeding heart leftist liberal progressives out there (especially for all you pro-Zionists and Christian supporters of Israeli-American solidarity) that you read through some of the available literature on this subject (the Holocaust mythology) before erupting with righteous indignation. One good starting point would be Benton L. Bradberry’s excellent book ‘The Myth of German Villainy’ (published in 2012) [Further information may also be had here]. Aside from brilliantly dispelling the Jewish-promulgated myth that Germany somehow remains an eternally damned nation for the Nazi persecution of Jews, and is possessed of an inherent belligerence that is unique to the German peoples, Bradberry covers such fascinating things as the integral involvement of Jewish intellectuals in the Communist movement that resulted in Stalin’s Soviet Union nightmare; he also explores the origin of so-called ‘Ashkenazi’ Jews, who have no common genetic connection with the Palestinian Jews at all (and who are in fact direct descendants of eastern European semi-nomadic, Turkic peoples forcefully converted to Judaism hundreds of years ago in what was then known as the Khazar Region).

It is easy to leap on any bandwagon these days, given the chaotic & impulsive dynamics of populist & 'crowd' causes, whether it be a sweeping condemnation of Germans as a nation of irredeemably mindless beasts or syrupy sentiment promulgating a mindless, pseudo ‘brotherly love’ association with people whose cultural proclivities clash irreparably with the host’s dominant cultural paradigm.

Toward the end of establishing clarity, purpose, wisdom and preservation of existing European culture, it is time to adopt a stricter policy of keeping Islamic peoples out of Europe, since regardless of all the leftist liberal hogwash that is regularly tossed about, Islam is a religiously totalistic and immutably inalterable way of life, completely and unconditionally incompatible with Christian Europe.

We almost lost Europe once to violent Muslim incursions (e.g. the Ottoman wars) in the 1600s; let’s never let it happen again! In that context, perhaps the Jewish mantra is ironically apt, after all: “Never forget (this fact)”.

That shared, I’m going to pop open a lovely Bavarian Spatenbrau Helle and thank God I’m not still in Riyadh, listening to the irritating 5-times-per-day caterwauling of some off-key Muezzin in a nearby mosque minaret. Unless you yourself have had the delerious delight of experiencing this recurrent auditory assault on your own serenity, don't be in any hurry to wish it on ANYONE!
