As I work on my latest Collection of Short Stories on my world journeys I find my copious notes so valuable. My ramblings -doodles & vignettes bring back so much of the richness of the voyages. Put me smack dab in places that had moved to the back of those darkened caves of memory. Faces of long ago - nearly forgotten painted fresh into my vortex. I highly recommend carrying around little notebooks & filling them up for future projects that made be totally unknown to you at the time. It also seems to embed the random pieces of experiences into a sort of paper quilt to carry with you down the writer's path. I have had some incredible Journeys over the last thirty plus years.
It was not until I had a handful of these untamed voyages under my belt I realized there was a Book to write. For the lessons of the road- the sweet
unexpected human encounters & constant surprises when meeting new towns & villages seemed to intrigue both friends & strangers as I shared my stories. A woman traveling on her own in the early 1970's was rather
unusual & digging for anestoral roots added more flavor I suppose.
Many folks I knew took rather by the book trips & tours. Most people looked on my jaunts as true adventures. Now years later I suppose they were right though I did not hike Mt Everest or go on safari in the jungles of Africa..
This book will be a departure from my "Forgotten Women of the West"
Collection of story poems.
It's good to go back & revisit those amazing
Places that contributed so much of my learning about the world.
Stay tuned-should be ready in 2017.
