As an author, some things are very important to me...having a good story to tell, making sure that story is told well and edited to the very last comma. It takes some time to choose a cover and it has to be inviting and in line with the story. There are other things that fall under the "important" category, but one that stands out in that list is the lifeline from reader to author...the review. Once "the end" appears, the reader's next step should be going to the author's website or purchase point and giving that book their thumbs up...or down, as the case may be sometimes. When you get dressed up to go out for the evening and your husband/wife/partner tells you how great you look, you just got a good review. If he or she glances over and says nothing, you wonder why you took all that time. It's no different for an author. We need to hear from you. We're tough souls and, if, heaven forbid, you didn't like our book, we need to know that and why. And, when the great review is there, it's a new boost of encouragement for us to keep doing what we're doing...making new worlds for you to enter with just a turn of a page.
