Rain...it could possibly be my favorite 4 letter word! I grew up in the midwest and rain and storms were something we just took for granted. Not a big deal. But, here in Las Vegas, we don't get many drops. I find that I long for it after a while. The sun, the heat, the dry all bring a longing for the water. This morning, it finally arrived! There's just something about the rumble of thunder and the sound and smell of rainfall that just soothes my soul. It relaxes me like nothing else. I sat on the patio with my dog and a cup of coffee and just enjoyed "being". It's a great treasure...not something you can buy or borrow. You can't go look for it and find it somewhere else. It causes you to wait...be patient...and, just when you've almost given up, there's that first rumble in the distance, the first little "ting" of a raindrop on the glass and, before you know it, you have your reward! Rain...priceless!
