When a story starts wandering around in my brain, it comes complete. I know my characters names, their looks, their personalities and, almost, the sound of their voices. The greatest thing is to actually meet one of your characters. It just happened that someone with the same name as one of the characters in one of my books decided to do a Google search on his name. Imagine his surprise when his name came up in the "tease" for my book! He then did a search for me and, once found, sent an adorable message to my FB author page. I'm sure some folks would not have been happy to have their name used without permission, but not this gent. He was very happy and excited to have his name in print. We've exchanged a few messages now and I mailed a copy of my/our book to him...across the pond! It's the little things in life that stay with you through the day and bring a smile to your face at the least expected moment. Thank you, Simon, for my smile today!
