It's been a while since I've been here...apologies! Life has a way of getting in the way. However, I've had a lot to think about in the past few weeks and one of those things has been the family unit. Now I was an only child and wasn't happy about that. I always swore I'd someday have a lot of children and grandchildren and would make up for all the closeness I'd missed. Today when I look at my life I can see how God has His way of making up for all the years of loneliness. Not only was I blessed with 5 wonderful children in a blended marriage, but 14 grandchildren were added and they, in their delightful way, have given me 5 great grandchildren. But that's not the end. When I look at the extended family around me...friends and children of friends, those that I've emotionally "adopted" through the years and those who have chosen to adopt me...my heart is full. I guess my message is this...we aren't always happy with what we have or don't have, but, if we just wait, something even bigger and better is sure to come. Gifts! They're there for us every day. Let's not be too busy to see them.
