Before you select a publisher, ask yourself: why pay for all the publishing? Before yu select a publisher to publish your book:
(1) ask yourself: why pay a publisher who produces your book when they don't list your book on their website, don't sell your book on their website, and don't help with promoting your book?
(2) Can you utilize the publishers' book reviews to get reviews? Will they handle distribution? Do you have to peddle your books yourself?
(3) Investigate the publisher before you hand over your hard work that you did when writing your book.
(a) Look for the type of book covers they have done. Are they cookie-cutter covers? (all look the same?) Study each cover. If they are all the same, move on.
(b) Are they moving? (no sales) Use the Kindle Nations' site to check book sales: https:// tracker.kindledaily.com. Also, Google book sales and rankings.
(c) Check for reviews of books by the publisher and any complaints by authors. Google the name of the book for the review. Read what Amazon says about the book. Books with three, four, and five-star reviews' indicate a publisher you would want to print your book.
(d) Is the publisher legitimate? Is it registered with its state? You should be able to find it in the state's listings. Spend time researching the publisher.
