Reached a milestone on this manuscript today. I have been working on a book I started 20 years plus ago. It was handwritten in an old composition notebook. This evening, at slightly over 41,500 words, I have reached the end of the prewritten part of this horror novel. Now I must create the rest from my reentry into this work. Oddly, at first I was having a difficult time working on this. I was just copying what I had written, modifying as needed, and felt like I was somehow cheating. As I got into the meat of the story, a very chilling thriller, I began to find myself drawn along, because I did not remember everything I had written. It is odd how these old, never finished works suddenly seem like such powerful stories. I hope to finish this by the end of January or the first of February. I have the end in my mind. Have had for twenty plus years. Now I just need to fit where I am to that ending. Wish me luck?
