Reading is the best way for writers to learn about writing. If when you are reading a story, in just two paragraphs, you can discover techniques to create a story of your own. With simple gestures, little details and, bits of dialogue, you can make your readers care about your character. You can do this by engaging your reader with simple gestures, little details, and bits of dialogue to move your story and your reader along.
Gestures are important because they tell us visually what is happening internally. for example: Existing her five-plus-feet of her 135 pounds from her ES Lexus 330 required effort. She slid her fingers through her blond curly hair and straightened her shoulder blousy dress before she spoke.
Isn't that better than describing her body, car, hair, and dress?
Part of good writing is telling details. The ones with meaning. The ones visualizing what's happening to a character. For example: "She jerked her hand from where it had rested on the handle of his wheelchair, almost as if it had burned her."
